QUOTE(rewma @ Dec 11 2004, 06:40 AM) Please convince me that I should buy a Outlander. They seem like a good value for money wagon.I know they are not overly zippy but that is not a concern of mine. My wife was totally sold as well. We nearly ended up with one but here in Canada the Lancer Sportback Ralliart proved to be much better value as they are selling at SOME dealers at a LARGE discount. The numerous tests we did of all versions of the Outlander showed that it is underpowered compared to many SUV's but is still very comfortable and fun to drive. My own preference would lean to the two wheel drive version unless there was a very specific reason to go AWD. Clark

I must say...Go for it manz...Its got styling and looks rugged enough for off road. Matted to the latest MIVEC 2.4...its a steal B)

Just picked up my 05 Outlander AWD Limited. I had shortlisted the Mits, Nissan Xtrail, Honda CRV and the Hyundai Tuscon. Quite simply Mits outdealt the others by a country mile. I got 1800 off sticker, they pay first 2 months, 1.95 interest, 500 dollar gift certificate at local mall, and free tires for life. Nissan and Honda's attitude was "The price is the price and the Interest rate is what it is. If you dont like it well guess you dont get one". Hundai had a nasty 7.9 percent rate which makes a big diff on a 33k (cad)vehicle over 5 yrs . Mits is relatively new here in Canada so they seem very eager to make some serious inroads into the inflexible legacy Japanese automakers. (probably didnt hurt that I made the purchase on Dec 28th of 04) Just took a bit of doing to actually find one.
