I got inside the dash to check why my speakers were making a wierd sound as if one was going out. I grabbed a little battery and was intending to touch the speaker wires together to find the bad speaker, but I couldn't find a bad one. I figured that since I had most the speaker wires disconnected, I would try and install a radio I had in my Accord (Eclipse 2003 MP3). Well, I tried and it didnt work either. I then noticed that the dash clock wasn't working so I tried other things... windows didnt work unless vehicle was started, locks only worked from inside when vehicle was started (or ignition in "on" position), keyfob didnt work at all. I connected the stock radio back up and it now works fine, but the windows, locks and clock dont work (Clock doesnt work at all). Checked all fuses and they are good. I've done tons of research today and cant find anything to help. Nearest dealership is 50 miles away. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance

I think there may be some relays and fusible links under the hood. Maybe you fried one. You did disconnect the battery before you started your work?

OK....If the battery was connected I would be tempted to isolate the fuse that controls your problem devices and replace it no matter what it looks like. If you have a multimeter check the fuse for continuity and also see if there is power to the point where the fuse plugs in. If not start looking at relays and fusible links.....especially those.

Should I be looking at the relays in the fuse box under the hood? or is there another place I should be looking? There is a radio fuse in the box under the hood I think #23 and #24 which are Radio and Dome light respectively, however they are blocked in by a yellow fuse guard that requires some sort of special tool to remove (not a fuse remover either). Should I even worry about those?

those are the ones you should be looking at.they do come out but can be tricky at times.I cannot help with how as I have never had the misfortune of blowing one.

It's not a yellow fusegard!!! Its made like that and the fuses u find is for innerlight and radio... Just lift up the yellow frame and then u can leave u'r car at a paintshop or workshop without innerlight and radio is using power... The special tool u need is just 2 fingers.... Then press down the yellow frame and the fuses easily popps out....

the "yellow fuseguard" you speak of is called the "I.O.D" connector. it stands for "ignition off draw", and is used during shipping of the car to prevent anything that draws power when the key is off from draining the battery.

you will find one of them to be blown. You dont need any special tool to remove it, just pop it up with a screwdriver. in fact, you dont need the yellow connector at all, so once its removed and you've gotten the fuses out of it, just toss it in the trash and put the fuses directly in the fuse panel.
