Eclipse gst mod. 1998

Hi guys, hope you can help me.

The check engine light is on, and got this message from the communicator the mechanics used: PO455.EVPGleak

The condition of my car is like this: When I give full throttle and just after the turbo kicks in the car just loosing the effect, it feels like the its loosing its pressure. It is somewhat when you have an old car driving in winter time:)
Hope that explains somewhat:)

The mechanics who tried to fix the problem, didnt understand what the problem was, and gave me the same old message: "It's an american car, we cant fixe those"
Idiots :amen:

P0455 is an evaporative emission gross leak. that means that the fuel tank is not sealing properly, allowing raw hydrocarbon vapor to escape.
Usually, its caused by someone leaving the gas cap loose or off the car completely, although it could be many other things.
it will not affect drivability it at all, so if you're experiencing a loss of power it is not related.

 :P Think I'll go buy myself a gas cap then since I'm missing one :P

But what is causing the car's behaviour then?

could be 3 dozen different issues.
I find it hard to believe theres no one in norway capable of diagnosing the issue, as the car is incredibly simple.

They contacted Mitsubishi Norway for any clues, but they said that they didnt have the right equipment to do a diagnose of the car.
I have heard that for Volvo, Mercedes and BMW, they get specialists from Germany or Sweden to do the diagnostics on those cars :)

So it looks like I have to take week off from work and drive down to Germany :)
