I've had my FTO two years but the revcounter's never worked. I was told by one of the dealer garages that it was likely to be a problem with the ECU and we all know how expensive they are to replace! Is it possible to bypass the ECU to get the revcounter working again? Is this possible? Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello, had the same problem with mine it only worked sometimes then stopped completly, got in touch with firm called Rice Rocket they got me an ignition sensor unit ??(think thats what it was they can tell you) and solved the problem , cheap and easy to fit . If you want try and find the sensor yourself to have a look go to the thermosat housing , look behind the water filler cap for a small black unit with 2 bolts . Just clean both contact faces and give it a try. Hope this helps.
