Hi-

I'm a total new guy, but am looking to purchase an 84 L300 4wd.
It is 1.8L petrol.

Yeah I have checked the other posts but was hoping for something more specific- does anyone have experience with this type van?

Specifically what have you found the fuel consumption to be like??

It;s either this or a hiace for me... so any help would be much appreciated

Thanks-

Hi and welcome!

I own an 84 L300 4x4, however mine has the 2.6ltr with 5 spd. It also has a 100ltr tank. I get over 800kms to a tank on the open road. Hope this helps.

You might want to consider a later model with the larger 2.4 litre injected engine. I average around 7 km/l when not using 4WD. Depending where you are - consider dual fuel with LPG. Not as good km/l but cheaper and combined with existing fuel tank increases the range by about 60%.

The Hiace is not really a substitute... The Liteace does have a 4WD version, but it won't go anywhere near an Express in off-road ability.

Good luck & stick with the Misti.
