I have just bought a 2002 1600 Space Star great car except for £190 road tax! and a knoking noise from the front right if I hit a bump when turning left. If I hit a bump when in a straight line or turning right no noise! If I shake the right hand wheel I can feel a slight amount of play any one any idears. :00000732:

I have changed quite a few strut mounts as they have either worn through or have not been installed properly.fairly inexpensive parts but not easily changable unless you have the right equipment

any regular garage should be able to assist in diagnosing this correctly and have strut spring compressors to change the upper mounts if needed.they can also check your slight play from the right hand side for worn tie rod ends-either inner or outer.the strut mount is the black piece that has three studs coming out of it and mounts it to the car under the bonnet.
