Hey

To try and answer your questions if you take a look at my profile you will see that I have an 04 model so yes the unit will work for your vehicle! don't forget that duketbrd is in the US and their prices are way lower than ours also looking at the instructions you need an extra cable if you have the 6 disc changer, and finally I can't comment on the steering controls as LS models don't have that feature! hope that helps?

p.s where in Alberta?

I'm in Edmonton. Been dealing with Southside Mitsubishi.

I just need to find out if the steering wheel controls work with the IPOD adaptor. If they do then I think I'm in! That at a nice 60gig iPod video would be sweet.

Could you scan the rest of the manual/instructions by any chance? I'm also curious what the unit looks like installed. Is it the standard mount found for other ipods? Does it provide power as well to the ipod?

Baah, sorry man. Too many questions. I should just harass the dealer more. Thanks for pointing the adaptor out in the first place!

It will work and it does work. I had the FM Modulator and switched it out for the hard wire adapter. It cost $200.00 USD and I had to get it installed on top of that, but the sound quality is of CD worthiness. I highly recommend it. You could always go the other route and pay a fortune to install an ipod ready stereo in the lower sleeve, below the A/C controls, but, try not to crash while you stare down at your stereo. Good luck all and thanks to those of you who gave out the model number.

Got my 2006 Endeavor LS today. The stereo sounds ok at best. Not quite as good as the stock basic stereo in my 2001 Ford Escape. At least that car had a cassette player with the CD so I could plug my iPod in using a stereo adapter!

I tried my iPod in the Endeavor with a Griffin iTrip. It sounded horrible!

Now the question is whether to spend $200 on something to plug it into a mediocre sounding stereo or to put a good sounding radio in somehow....

Somehow is eaiser than you think. The space below the A/C controls is designed for an addon stereo. There are mounting kits available at crutchfield.com. Use the link titled what fits my car and you will find them. I recommend getting an Alpine with ipod capability. Good luck.

Just installed one of these iPod adapters ($169 on ebay) in my 06 Endeavor. Works and sounds great. Took about 2 hours to install. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to assist.

I'm so excited about this adapter. I'm going to ask Santa for one. Can any of you who have installed post a photo? Do you put your ipod in the center console or in the space under the A/C?

Now, if there was only a way for me to add my Sirius...

The iPod goes in the glove compartment (I love how you can lock it inside), and is controlled via the head unit. Buttons 5 and 6 on the head unit are for next/prev playlist and the Track button is for next/prev track. The scan button does what it says, and the random button is supposed to shuffle your tracks; although it doesn't work on mine. The adapter itself has some dip switches you can mess with, so I'm going to experiment with those to see if I can get the random button to work. I've attached a scan of the diagram which shows where it's installed. Attached Image

Hey everyone! Got the adapter kit for my iPod, but can't figure out how to remove the silver center console to gain access to the radio. Can anyone help me figure it out? My alldata manual is useless... for once. :)

The radio does have to come out right? Or do I do this from the back?

Thanks to all in advance!

Bill

I just received my iPod Adapter (MZ607411EX) and I am having problems getting it to use/recognize the iPod.

I hooked up the adapter as shown in the diagram, and I cannot figure out how to get the head unit to pull songs from the iPod. I've pressed every button on the head unit.

The iPod doesn't even change modes or act like it is hooked up to anything when i plug it in.

I am thinking it is something with my head unit or the four the dip switches.

I drive a 2000 Eclipse GT, STOCK head unit.
My head unit code is MR337276
This code doesn't match the code for an eclipse that is in the instructions (MN141494).

There is a section in the instructions that describes the proper settings (ON) for the switches if you have one of the listed head units, but it doesn't tell you to to turn the switches to the OFF position if you have an unlisted head unit. Therefore, I'm not sure if i have the switches set correctly, or if my head unit is supported (it should be. It's the stock head unit, after-all!)

If anyone has any input as to what the problem might be, please let me know!
