I am looking at buying a 98 or 99 RVR X2, either 1.8 gdi or 2.4 gdi.

Every spec I read seems to indicate they have rear drum brakes. I find this hard to believe in this day and age.

Is this true?

Has the 2.4 got drum brakes on the rear? Or in the case of the X3, the turbo 2 litre, does that have drums on the rear?

Joe

I don't know very much about them...but mine also has drums on the rear. I am also trying to find out how to set the clock. Everything is in Japanese. You are right though...seems strange in this day and age (even 1998), that they put drums on the back. It stops well though.

Thanks woody

I do suppose the 2l turbo X3 has discs on the back, but it is the sort of thing you see most on sub 1300 cc cars these days.

I will check what is the situation with the standard Lancer and lo-spec Colts, they may be the same.

Good to hear it stops OK then.
