so tonight i went out and had a couple encounters. the first was with a crown vic with some work down. ive only got cold air and a complete exhaust on an otherwise stock 97 RS. we ran neck and neck. then i saw a galant that seemed (and sounded) like all it had was a crappy exhaust, and probably a cold air to go with it. we started off at a 55 MPH start, both of us dropped gears (i went to 3rd), and i left him. i ran it to a little over 7grand in 3rd, switched to 4th and ran it up to 6500, then into 5th. not long after i ran outta gears, he came by me, shifted (probably from 4th to 5th), kept going, and i couldnt catch him. what the hell.

Galants runs i4 or v6. it might have been the v6. it might have been playing you from the start.

so let me get this straight, 6500 RPM in 4th is about 120 mph, and you shifted into 5th... you arent too bright are you?

does the v6 have single or duel exhaust?

well, with 135xxx miles on the engine, its already smoking pretty bad cause i think my seals are wore out, i wasnt lookin to push it any harder.

and i thought the 2g eclipse didnt have a fuel cutoff anymore?
