Hello! I would go with a 215/45/17 if it's a 1993-1999 eclipse. also tire brand i would go with anything that is well name brand like falken, dunlop, fuzion, and a few more. if you go to www.gotwheelsandtires.com you can find some wheels and tires for less than $950.00 depending on the tire brand  Attached Image

I have 215/60-16 Falkens on my '97 Diamante. Some comments:

They were rated #1 by Consumer Reports last year, good ride, quiet,
precise turn-in handling, price, etc.

My observation of my set of tires is that 1) they are very noisy (especially when braking---loud hum), 2) the "precise turn-in" makes the car require CONSTANT attention to my driving. Don't look off the road for a second!

I like the look of the Yokohama Avids. They have a solid bar of rubber in the center of the tread and gently zig-zagged grooves, both of which make me think the won't follow the freeway rain-gooves. The Kuhmos I bought last year were so bad in this respect I took them off after 1000 milesl. Almost sickening sensation!

I love the Avids. No complaints now.
