My friend is so cocky about his firebird with just an exhaust system. Right now he can beat my 97 eclipse RS with a filter, plugs and wires, and cat back exhaust.

Who would win when i put on:
high flow cat converter
header and downpipe
AEM cold air intake
Performance chip

V-6. When im done performance modding i think i might have a chance. He is all stock except for his exhaust system. He still has a factory cat converter.

Well, replacing the catalytic converter with a test pipe will kill his performance, so talk him into it!

Also, if he has over 50K miles on it, the 3800 leaks coolant and oil from the lower intake manifold gasket, so maybe he can blow the engine, too :57:

I know im really late on chiming in but im bored and its late. Firebird should have you. it would be like racing a turbo eclipse. or a non turbo 3000gt. (ignore that if the v6 camaro and v6 firebird are not the same car.)

(not ulike mine  ) after those mods on your i think you should have it. but you don't even have to wait that long, just race him now and figure out what mods(if any) you need to beat him, oh yeah, please tell me he's not in an auto?????

A V6 weighs ALOT. Just a couple hundred pounds lighter than the ws6. It might be pretty close actually.

Dude if his firebird is a v8... the only way in hell you could beat him is going turbo.

The RS is not a fast car, at 140hp without turboing you can maybe pull 200hp-220hp with tons upon tons of work and modding.

Even if he has the v6 and he plans to mod it or put performance parts on it. It wont be long before he's going to smoke you, assuming he already cant.

Turbo or... *coughs loudly* 50shot of nitrous *cough*
