okay.. so ive got a 96 gs.. its pretty low, (i dont know the drop measurements). i just bought it so im still trying to figure this stuff out.
well i HAVE velox rims and really low pro's on it.. and ive gotten 2 flats and cracked 2 rims so far.
im trying to figure out what size wheel/tires i can put on my car without having problems with the tires rubbing.
right now, i have 18's with 215/40/18's on the front that are perfect, no rubbing problems.
the rear has 225/40/18's and then i take corners, they rub.
i dont have a measuring tape to measure the total height.. anyone know about this stuff?
and ive seen a lot of stuff on the alum rims being bent?
would i be better off getting stock steel rims, or the alum rims (the 96 ones are kind of ugly.) or..?
any help?

the car is lowered, so if the tires are too big, they rub on the inside of the wheel well... which is bad. ive gone thru 2 tires and 2 cracked rims.
my last tire shredded.. the tread ripped away from the sidewall almost 3/4 of the way around.

why are the tires different sizes? that might be why its rubbing in the back and not in the front...

o and watch out for pot holes

i agree.. you shouldnt have two different size tire on the car... you might try rolling the rear fenders in if you still have problems after you fix your tire problem... :57:

a ok, i was just makin sure :) ... but yea i agree with swade.. you should just try puttin the same size as the front on.... if your blwoin tires and messin them up.. whats a lil more to get same size all around.. if that doesnt help then raise it up a lil bit, (i dont know how your cars lowered) if you have coil overs you can raise it like half an inch or an inch.. and be good to go again :)

oh man dont talk to me about cracked 18's god knows howmany of my 18s are in rim heaven...

18's on low pro's arent meant for ANY street with holes period. best thing i could tell you to solve the rim cracking tire shredding prob is to get smaller rims [which i hate to say]

lol i had a vid of mine on myspace, but it got deleted when i deleted my account. mine has 7 diff colors, has like 15 different pulse modes with 5 speeds each, as well as sound pulse mode with sensitivity control. they are sweet. the only problem i have with them is that the LEDs burn out too quick for my taste.
