I have a 2002 Eclipse with the Infiniti CD player and was wondering if there are any inputs on the back of the CD player so I could hook up an Ipod to it?

I don't think there's any.

So I actually made an aux. port. The wires and some minor parts from Radio Shack costed me about 50 bucks I think... But it works pretty good and since it's an aux. port, my passenger usually gets to watch a movie with my laptop :bwekk:

This is actually what my friend and I did, I'm sure there might probably be better / more efficient ways (less wires) to complete them.

Here's what we used
Two MITAH adapters
The stock 6-pin DIN cable (male/male)
Another male/male 6-pin DIN cable
RCA Y-adapters
http://www.installer.com/hilo/

Coming from the AMP, it goes:

6-pin DIN cable ---> MITAH adapter ---> 4 RCA Y-adapters

Coming from the HU:

6-pin DIN cable ---> MITAH adapter ---> Connect to RCA Y-adapters accordingly

After that, you're left with 4 open RCA plugs from the Y adapters:
Front right, Front left, Rear right, Rear left

with two more Y-adapters connect the Front right + Rear right, and then Front left to Rear left.

Hope this can help ;)
Connect those two RCA plugs to an RCA-to-mini plug adapter. And then of course the mini-plug connects to anything you it to. Connect the blue remote wires together. We also made a on/off switch to eliminate the static coming from the aux port when no music is being played.

With the bypass you eliminate the need for the factory infinity amp. Your headunit will power your new speakers. New headunit, new wiring harness, bypass the old factory amp, you're done. I don't know how many times you need to be told this.

If you want to use the stock amp, you use an adapter.
If you want to amp the speakers with the stereo, you use a bypass.

I get all the wiring stuff I need from bestbuy or circuitcity. Actually audio components I get from sonicelectronix.com

Yes if you want to still use your factory amp(which I don't see why you would)

Or use a bypass if you want the headunit to power your speakers which it will do perfectly fine.

The stock amp will give about 30rms of clean power to the speakers. The head unit will give 22rms of dirty power to the speakers.

thats why you would wanna keep it. Unless you are getting a whole new system, it is better to keep the stocker.

so there's still no simple way to hook up a stock Infinity deck without losing any of the stock features to have a ipod connect into it? i heard you can just get a couple of wires and run it from the cd changer ? is this just bs?

Dude like bobthecow said. An FM adapter is your only option if you want to keep all of your factory settings. It's not as clean of a sound as a striaght AUX in, but it will still let you listen to your ipod on your factory infinity headunit without losing any of your functions.
