The burning question for a lot of people is to get a standard or a automatic.

Which do you have? Which do you prefer?

I am thinking about getting a standard, even though they are a bit harder they keep you focused on the road more I find.

Manual all the way,its better on efficiency, you can have power exactly when you need it and it wont cost as much to repair if something goes wrong.Save the automatic for when your to old and lazy to drive properly.

Drives: 1996 Talon AWD. Built, but no longer drives: 1997 mitsubishi eclipse RS; 1990 Talon AWD; 1995 Talon AWD, 1997 Talon AWD. Seems like a pattern

had auto, swapped to standard. i feel i have much more control over the vehicle with a standard.

rural driving definately standard. if I lived in a bigger city I would prefer auto for daily driver. for any sports or sporty car it has to be standard

I have an auto, I don't mind it, but I wish it was manual.

As far as sports cars having manuals, drive a Ferrari and tell me you'd rather have a manual. The F1 gearboxes shift like MAD.

good choice, but it depends on what it is your getting. if its a car meant to be sporty or fast, standard or nothing. however if you have a chevy on 35s you might not want a standard tranny

Auto baby and I love it I can focus on the road, I have leaned where my sweet spot is and I beat sticks to death on the highway!!!
From a stop light I get my tail kicked everytime but I own the highway it's like no ending to my power curve when I put my foot down :)
And if you have ever been in heavy California like traffic you'll kiss your automatic like it was your girlfreind.

been manual all my life. my first car was a manual, learned in a manual, was shifting with my left hand when i was 4+ in my dads truck. couldnt do without a manual.

but manuals are easy to drive. dont focus on the fact you have to clutch and shift, and you wont have a problem. if you think about it, then there will be problems. but i can agree with i do stay alert when driving a manual. when im driving an auto, i tend to day dream because it so boring.

stick is WAYYYY more fun, but i'm kinda glad my car's auto because i'm often stuck in traffic on the 5, and with auto i can amuse myself by fiddling with the radio or sending text messages. and my car's far from sporty
