What is "better"?

Performance, looks, reliability?

Each generation has it's place.

I'm not an Eclipse expert. But, if I had to choose I'd go 2G GSX.

Best looks and peformance overall.

The 1G (in my opinion) is the ugliest, but I heard it's the lighter of the group, so it's probably the fastest Eclipse.

The 2G has the best looks/performance/weight overall (again in my opinion). AWD helps traction and handling.

The 3G is probably the most reliable (4G hasn't been around long enough to determine if it's more reliable). But, the 3G is the weakest performance-wise. Styling is rather bland/boring. FWD only too (boring).

The 4G is the nicest looking. However, I would never buy a FWD sports car wanna-be. If the 4G was RWD I would consider it.

But, my vote goes out to the 2G GSX.

Also, what's the point of the poll at the top of the page if you can't pick one car. There is only one voting choice.

poll edited and re-set. let me know if that's what you meant.

I like the 2nd gen turbo AWD best myself, but nothing beats a 1g turbo AWD but uglier than sin uber fast but looks like a sleeper car, too.
