hey guys,

winter's gone now and it's gonna be first summer drive my L300 on NZ beaches.
During cold time was no big deal but now i worry a bit about my engine temp gauge on dashboard, it never goes up more than 1/5. It moves a little but really not as much as i expected.

Is the temp gauge on engine faulty or is the meter on dashboard faulty or is it normal?

How could i quick check this ?
or do i have to ask a mechanic?

cheers

HI Im a new forum user so hope you get this. My L3004wd petrol used to give low temperature readings esp in cold weather. It was faulty thermostats that stick open usually after about 2-3 years. Running the heater unit in winter also make engine temps low. Thermostats can be tested by bringing to boil in saucepan and watch opening temps. By the time you have removed one to test it is better just to put in a new one
