I was on my way home from school and i had to drop a freind off at his house and i was driving behind an eclipse rs with a loud exhaust. so i was riding his tail alittle because i am a stupid kid. then when we get near a neighbor hood he turns on his blinkers and i turn mine on then we both turn into this neighborhood and we take off, im right on his tail at half throttle then he hits a turn and we slow down. we come up to stop sign and we both take off again and im right on his tail at almost no throttle and i can hear his car reving very high because i could barley hear my engine which is pretty loud. finally we come to an inter section and he turns his blinkers on again. and i felt that i had him beat seeing as how he couldnt ahake me from his tail but i got the impression that he felt he was the victor. i was just wondering what you guys would have thought if you were in this situation. remeber this is the sinopsis of what was probably like a 4 or 5 minute race through the neighborhood.

and yes i know street racing is stupid but we were not going faster than 60 for any longer than 20 seconds.

first: residential neighbor hood + street racing = stupid at any speed. I don't care if it was only for a minute or two. It only takes a second for a little kid to chase a ball into the street, and then it's manslaughter. Game over. Take a little respondisiblity, and head to an industrial park, or a highway that's fairly empty, or something that is NOT RESIDENTIAL.

second: You looked at his tail lights the entire time. That indicates to me that you were behind him. That indicates to me that you were second. Second place is behind first place. At the track, if someone leaves before you(better reaction, not redlighting), and finishes before you, they call that losing.

next time race where there are to lanes, thus your not stuck behind him.

in regaurds to the losing thing i didnt lose because technically he backed down so there fore im the victor even if i was behind him because the purpose of a non drag street race is to lose your opponent and he failed at doing that so he loses.

And to everyone that says street racing is stupid should take a look back on their own life and tell me that they never tried to out beat a guy from a light or speed past someone on a some what residential road or even sped through a neighor hood. now tell me whats the diffrence between thoughs and what i did. and take into consideration my event happened at a time where kids were still in school and people were at work so there was a signifigantly less chance of an accident.

if thats a case ill race you in my 12 speed mountain bike and tie myself to your car, cant lose me I win w00t. Racing around a neighbor hood is crappy. I hope you don't have any of them hidden cameras around. I've never taken a race off the highway, sure with all my fire firebuddies ill screw around with em and give it a few revs, but I see people like you kill yourselves and others, then when it happens your so damn dumbfounded. I remember one guy, 23-25 came back with his expensive BMW wanted to show off with his buddies from out of town, and was going all around town till he hit a patch of loose dirt and slid into a cornfield. There was other kids that borrowed there freinds 2003 Grand Prix and went down a hill thats normally 30 but at 90+ and lost controll and wiped out another car at the bottom, good thing for baby seats.

I hate when jackasses speed through my firezone at a call. Thats all we want is some jackass with a motor thats louder then his mouth flying by us when were spraying a house. We kick there cars :) or through **** at em, its great!

maybe he didn't back down, maybe he had somewhere to go. Ever thought of that?

anywho, you know you would have beat him, but as stated before, you were behind the whole time, so you lost. It happens all the time in real racing, like NASCAR and F1. It isn't always the fastest car, if you can block somebody and win, it is still a win. He blocked you, he won.

I think the moral is that some people need to grow up.

That video was sick. What a bunch of idiots. And by the way if you were racing him in the neighborhood for 5mins(you obviosly don't care about endangering anyone) and you couldn't pass him, then you did lose because a real driver would have found an opening and easlily passed him. You Lost!

anyone who races in a residential neighborhood is a ****. it doesn't matter what time it is there are always kids and moms there. when you have kids of your own you might rethink your racing habits and if you are behind the other person YOU LOSE!!
