i just got ahold of a 4d55 turbo diesel and about the most i can find on it is that mitsubishi made it and it was 2.3 liter and about 130 pounds of torqe at 2k
anyway got the engine from a guy this weekend was an old scrapped project that he never got to and now i have a whole pile of engine. all disasembled but all there. the block looks good the head is brand new. in the plastic even. new bearings gaskets pistons basically everything for put an engine together. anyway i am trying to find some sort of spec sheet on this engine a manual and some info on it i have tryed a few dozen mitsu dealers and mitsubishi itself with an amazing lack of help. so if anyone knows anything about these engines or has some paperwork on one please let me know.

Hi Atomic Punk,

I have just installed a 4d56 injector pump onto a 4d55. The injector pump had extra vacuum gear on it that I didn't have any wiring harnesses to connect to it, so I took the vacuum gear off and put the throttle connectors from the 4d55 onto it. I can start the engine (just) under full throttle and now it just either idles very high or low.

I havn't time the injector properly so I think this is the problem. Any assistance or manuals would be of great assistance.

Its the Diesel Kiki (bosch) pump. DO you need any more info. Mail me at joe @ brisbane biodiesel.com (remove spaces from email address)

Thanking you in advance.
Joe

Hello!

I'm also riding old (84) Pajero 2.3 TD,
but I miss the engine service manual very much. The motor code is 4D55T, and interested in injector pump and turbo service/maintenance. Could you help me as well please?

Thanks!
