I keep blowing the fuse that controls the 4-speed auto trans,A/T control unit,
overdrive switch,inhibitor switch & auto-cruise control unit.
Before it blows the fuse it will act crazy when I put it in gear,it starts shuddering
and then dies. This is after the tranny warms up.
Could my A/T control unit be bad? And where is it located?

1992 Mirage Eng. 4G15 / Trans. F4A21
I am NEW to this board and I sure could use some help.
THANKS! :liebe011:

It could be the ecu but it could also be other things that share the same power circuit. The ecu is on top of the floor tunnel under the dash. Take the lid off it and look for burnt circuits, it's a sure sign of a faulty ecu :-)

Hmm ... blown fuse (frequently) ... it may cause by A/T control wiring which short to ground. I think you should take your car to the mechanic which specialize in wiring problem. If you are going to save buaks and DIY your car... then you will take forever to find the short circuit .. if you are not WIRE GEEK! Good Luck.
