These systems are really easy to tune. they have an idel curcuit and what is refered to a power valve. the power valve is a ristrictor in the main tube flowing the gas to the carb......Dont touch this.......On your gas convertor there will be one screw which should have a spring under it to stop the screw rattling lose and changing the mixture but it still happens, hence the engine runs rough..! This is the screw you need to play with when the engine is running slowly turn the screw one way or the other...Slowly as it take a little time for the adjustments to effect the gas going to the engine. This screw will lean/richen your motor. when the revs increase keep turning the screw until you find the happy medium between R/L.......rember slightly rich will help cold starts and do no harm, where as running the motor to lean will cause it to run hot,so stay on the rich side of thing's
I had this set up on my wife's modifed 79 ge sigma it ran a 2.6 with efi head and later model carb mainfold and this engine was the quickest non turbo I have ever been in.....hope this helps
