I am the second owner of an japanese imported 97 Grandis GDI.

I have not been able to work out the functions for the stereo / CD / Tape player.
Most of the head unit is in Japanese. If anybody is familiar with the operation, please let me know.

As my screen / nav / tv isn't operating, I originally presumed that this was because it was an import and the japanese software / features would not work here in NZ. Having read some helpful posts (and also finding out why I have vibrations when braking), I am now a bit worried as other Grandis owners have their operational. I am hoping that there are some owners out there who have had to make modifications to get their imported stereo / tv / nav / cd / tape units to work in NZ. If so, please let me know what steps you took.

Is the translated Japanese GDI user manual worth buying for my problem?

Hi,
There are other posts in this forum on wheel vibrations if you want more info. It apparently has something to do with warped brake discs. You can either have them skimmed, or just get them replaced... I haven't got the work done yet.

Hi y'all
I have a newly bought 97 chariot, which seems quite a car, but a few problems including a right old judder on the brakes.
I had the tires balanced, which helped a bit and then had the discs skimmed which stopped all the braking judder, £23-00, much cheaper than new discs. What's left is a slight wobble through the steering at 55-60 mph, I am going to change the transmission fluid and filter next, and try swapping the front wheels to the back. PS your discs have to be fairly unworn or there is not enough metal left.

You need the japanese cd to reprogram the nav unit for stereo operation and a/c
