Many have converted to the 2.6 and I have researched the hassels and effort's of the conversion changing sump, modifing sump ect....
There is a easyer way...!
I have just trial fitted the starion/cordia 1.8 turbo and it fits so easy....swap the sump and pick up off the old 1.8 engine and mounts and she's in i have no intension of running the ecu as I am using a straight gas carb nothing needs any mods as the alternator powersteering brackets are all in the same place....!

very easy upgrade...!with heaps of torque........

G'day Anth
1.8 high comp mtr vrs 1.8 lo comp
Tuned for straight gas (and I'm stating a purpose built gas carb,Not an suck thru system) will produce more HP One of the advantages of Pure LPG is the octane rating is a lot higher, Hence a greater comp ratio is allowable. Run the same mtr on Normal pump fuel and it will soon detonate itself into oblivion. The performance figures soon and rapidly deteoriate when one compares the FRONTAL area of a L300 compared to a Cordia/ Starion. Beware of intake temperatures etc as a Starion/Cordia has a bonnet whereas the l300 does not. A Starrion/Cordia wont be on boost at 100 KPH wereas a l300 will be pegging the scale,....aerodynamics!

Simple experiment....Walk into a headwind carrying a 10 ft x 10 ft sheet of masonite (l300)

Cut it down to a 1/4 and walk into the same head wind (Starion) Ones a lot easier than the other!
