Hey all,
Is there really any import out there that the GSX can't take?
I look at the pairing of AWD with a Turbo. I've seen a few video's (FINALLY found some) of Eclipse's actually losing in street races. One was against a topped out vette. The guy driving didn't launch the car, and clearly wasn't truly racing to win.
What kind of kills have you guys had in races? Either Drag or rolling at any speed.
I still have a GSX. I'm currently driving an 05' Mazda6 and have lost against an Evo, WRX, RSX, and an 06' Vette. All of these have been off the freeway going for top speed. I've held up to the WRX and the RSX, the Evo got away slowly with the turbo, I stuck with the Vette until he really stepped on the pedal. Problem is, the 6 is speed limited at 120mph.
I've had my gsx up to 130mph rather easy/quick.
I want to be racing SOMETHING this summer which is only limited by my skill of driving. The GSX is where I think it's at, problem is, I don't want to drop all my money into it, and not be able to stand up against all these idiots out here with Evo's. The Evo is nice, and it's fast, don't get me wrong, no hate going on here. But EVERYONE has them.
Can I get some love and truthful support for my gsx?
Thanks all, Russ

How long have you been in the DSM Community??? If you have been studying a bit you should know what to upgrade to your car. Even if you exceed all the limit of your car it can only do so much. Well for starts did you do all the free mods to your car ?? if you didn't, here is a good begin steps for you ~~~> http://www.dsmtuners.com/sub.php?page=2gtstage0powerHow deep is your pockets and your determination for your car. There is no limits for you some guys that I know have taken years to build up thier DSM and once there finish it is one hell of a monster. There is 2 guys in the SoCal that are the gods of DSM. -The 1st one is a 1G Eclipse GSX 2.3 stroker motor pushing out 500+HP, he dose his own tuning to his car. -2nd one is a 2G Eclipse GSX pushing out 700HP full interior and 1/4 mile in high 10sec-low 11sec car. Both cars was in USCC of 2003 i think

Hey 4G63Attack,
I have read through that entire DSMTuners article on their stages of upgrade. I may follow through with that one. But ofcourse, that is not a complete upgrade path. I plan to pull 500+ HP out of the GSX. I have many friends in many different industries. One of them is an auto-body (GOD in my view). The guy has 25+ years with racing and auto-body.
As far as the amount of money, I just picked up a second contracting job (IT ofcourse) which is all extra money to blow. The next 35 days or so will bring an extra $3500 which will be the starting line for the GSX Project. That $3500 is only on a single contract. I may pick up more after I complete the first few on this set and go past $3500 in a quick sprint.
I plan to get the GSX Project in the first running stages before summer. This way I can take it out to the track and compete.
---
PhatFel: The problem I see with the Evo's and the reason I don't want to build one up is, I've seen 10+ here in Fairfield, and these are JUST driving by my apartment. On the road, I've seen a few Eclipse's but NONE are GSX. I've seen 1 actual GSX here in Fairfield at the mall (Long time ago) and it looked like it only had exterior work.
The main reason I want to take the GSX and build it is because it's plainly rare. All you see out here in the Bay Area is GS-T's at most. Never any real GSX.
Thanks all, Russ
