SO, my cruise control started acting up the other night when i went to drive home. All the lights came on but no cruise control. once then engine got warm and stayed warm, about 10min of freeway driving it worked fine. The same thing happens early in the morning, but not during the day when it is warm outside. What could it be?

I am having problems with mine as well. It doesn't work at all. All the lights come on and everything's hooked up, it just won't work.

I'm thinking maybe a new motor for it? or maybe a sensor?

Hard left turn? hmmmmm..... That could be like a loose or bad connection. The turn may have made it shift just a little so it made contact.....

Find the control unit, make sure the vacuum lines aren't broken.

you think cold vacuum lines could be cracked and when they are warm they expand and seal the cracks?

You never realize just how good you had it, until it's gone do you? **tear**

SOOO, my Cruise control is dead now, just stopped working all together. I thought it might be a vacuum problem but now i'm not convinced, i checked the vacuum lines to the thing and they are fine. no leaks. All the lights come on in the dash and it even downshifts if i hit resume after i've set it, let it slow down and then resume. So i'm thinking it's not electrical either? What do you all think? it's really annoying cuz i drive ALOT where CC is nice.

The cable should go from the pedal through the firewall to a box. Check that. if everything looks good then go the black cylinder thing on the firewall.

the cylinder thing being the actual cruise control unit that's actually on the passenger-side inner-fender by the battery, correct?

this thread cracks me up. ive got cruise on my 90, and it works like a charm. when i use it. ive always driven a manual, so letting the car modulate the throttle just feels weird to me.

yeah, i opened that up, i also disconnected the relay that is bolted to that box. I did that once and the cables all moved ok, the spindles did too, after taking it apart and puting it back together it worked for a few days then stopped working. I've tried the same thing several times now and it wont work again, i tried lubricating the cables and all that but it wont work. I cant figure it out, and it's driving me crazy. If i could find one at a wrecking yard i'd just replace everything in there.
