Hello to all, and thanks for looking.

My question(s) are as follows. I have done pretty much about 12 hours of research on this, on the interenet. I have found RPW's website, and it is impressive for support for the Mistubishi Outlander. Well, I have a Ram Air intake on the way for my vehicle, but now that my car is going to be breathing better (inhaling) I want to improve the exhaust. I have found some parts for the 4G69 engine, but not much. RPW and Tearstone have quoted me 850.00 for the header for the car, but I am posting here in hopes someone may know somewhere better and cheaper. Don't get me wrong, 850 is probably worth the quality and performance, but I do not have that kind of $$$ at th time. I want something I can use now, and hopefully upgrade later....

I have not seen many of my vehicle in the area, and only a couple of Outlanders with any performance work on the internet. I am at a loss for performance modifications. I have contacted someone else about UDP and belt, but again, if anyone has any input, I would greatly appreciate it.....

Thanks again

hi,
maybe i can be of a little help, as i've been searching myself for performance parts for my manual trans '06 LS awd outlander. i couldn't find those sites you mention, other than an rpw in australia. i've used road race motorsports ('rrm') in ca for a couple of things, an underdrive pulley and a strut-tower bar. the underdrive pulley was a relatively easy install after a frustrating time trying to decipher the on-line instructions and a futile phone call to rrm. i think the pulley has given the 4g69 a good 200-250 rev advantage in any gear; at hwy speed 65 mph in overdrive, instead of about 3000 rpm it's down to about 2750 or so, given the normal tach inaccuracies, in addition to revving up a bit quicker with less pedal pressure....or maybe it's my imagination. the strut-bar only connects the two forward-most shock-tower bolts, so chassis flex is still there, but less pronounced. it's more noticeable in experiencing less flex when driving and turning on poor roadsurfaces. i also have a weapon-r intake, which unfortunately was made for an earlier outlander with the old maf. as i had the darn thing a couple of months before i took the time to put it on, it was too late to return, so i had to do some creative fabricating to utilize the new maf without its attendant airboxes. hopefully your intake will bolt right in. that also has made a bit of a difference performance-wise, but it's pretty loud under acceleration. i'm reluctant to get headers as the oem manifold has separate header runners, though most likely narrower than what you might be considering. rrm have some nice lancer ralliart 4g69 parts; intake, headers, and free-flow cat, but all that stuff is pricey, so i consider the most for the least, especially after 17' rims and new tires. (my oem all-season dunlops were bloody 'orrible in the rain so for safety's sake i bought bfg t/a's) check rrm's site if you're set on headers, theirs are $500, but you'll need a different flex pipe as their kit is for the 4g69 lancer, a smaller car than outlander.
hope i didn't bore you....maybe you could let us know those part sites you found.

well, I recently put my car up in the air directly next to an 05 ralliart lancer. Measuring and eyeballing, i am pretty sure that the exhaust from RRM will fit, cutting a small section out of the downpipe. My plan is to pick that set up and make it work, and have cat back fabricated seeing as there is absolutely no support in that area. I am also working on getting the car up next to an eclipse RS or GS. I have found a couple of exhaust setups for those two also, and if it may be the same case, just cutting and making it work, I am game. Got in touch with a good fabricator and we shall see what happens. Still waiting on the intake and UDP, but I will let you know difference when its all said and done.

I was referred to this site as well for performance parts on the 4G69

http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/ralliartperf.htm

Are the parts available for an 06 Lancer 4G69 compatible with the 06 Outlander? I read the posts throught the thread I just have to have some knowledgable assurance. Thanks in advance.
