Hi, I'm from NZ and have a 2003 Airtrek Turbo. Does anyone out there know how to get more bhp and torque out of these engines? I'm aiming for about 300bhp and 300 lbft of torque. Probably need to change the turbo (change compressor wheel or bolt on evo 7 turbo) but the complicated bit is getting the ECU re-mapped. Has anyone done this? Appreciate any feed back?

Ask for Merv at ecutek.com he runs an Airtrek and has a map for it. Hard to say what the bhp will be as its difficult to get autos on the rolling road

When I changed to my TD05 but still had my top mount I still didnt get much power.
I put a boost gauge before and after the top mount and was losing around 4 psi.
Changing to the front mount also allowed me to add more timing.

Current set up:
TD05 with 10.5cm hotside
Ceramic coated Evo 6 exhaust manifold
Ebay o2 housing
Custom 3" down pipe and exhaust (no cat) fully heatwrapped
Kelford rally cams (264 approx)
Custom Front mount and ic piping
Alky spray kit 50/50 alky water
650 cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Arp head studs
1.2 bar actuator
ARC intake
Hallman MBC
Evo 8 bypass valve
Extra ATF cooler and twin spray water sprayer using Evo 8 intercooler sprayer
Zeitronix Wideband
Tuned using EcuFlash
Ferodo pads
Slotted Discs
NGK Plugs 2 steps cooler (8s)

Running 26 psi 292 kw to the wheels (@400hp)

I read that too ! I'm only thingking about how strong can be the original interior of the Airtrek/Outlander turbo engine... 400hp with the stock pistons and rods are very great  For the TD05 turbo the stock IC is very small :-D
Anyway the Evo 9 TD05 turbo is much better than the Evo8, the Evo 9 turbo can be very hard it can charging the Evo engine for 500hp and spool up very fast from 3000RPM :-))

Rocksta,
the information above doesn't belong to my car. My Outlander is more modest , just running 1.30 Bar-270 HP-360 torque :)
