Do you eclipse owners ger bad auto transmissions like us Galants have?

I'm trying to track down where the design has come from and what can be done to make them last longer than 30k

10 years of usage could result in about £8k of transmission bills!!!!

nope, most eclipses dont have auto trans problems. i have seen many rs/gs eclipses run over 100000 miles. GST/GSX usually last about as long. However, once you start heavy modification, if that trans isnt built up, you're gonna lose it.

Transmission cooler will make it last, I tell more later :)

Ok I'm back! :) You can have the passages opened up and you can have a shift kit installed approx amount $1000.00 for a stage 2 if you race at a track a lot and it will perform about the same as a manual and will hold up under a race engine a lot better than stock

I am having a stage 1 done to mine asap cost approx $400.00 and it will perform on the street quite well and it too helps it to last longer.

Tip: Don't rock ya car back and forth if stuck in the mud etc.. As it's kinda hard on the ol motor mate! :)

Tip: Upshifting from start don't make ya no faster times and (Downshifting) is a Big ol No! No! :)

Tip: Check ya manual for service intervals ;)

But back to your question these chrysler transmissions are great stock and modifiyed if ya take care of it.

Where do you get parts for a auto transmission upgrade? Also what is the difference between the stages?

So you had an auto tranny and your converting it to a stick for only 400? Or are you just upgrading a manual tranny.
My cars auto and i absolutely HATE IT!! I love the car and i dont want to sell it but i want a manual tranny. If you are converting your tranny for only 400 then i want to know how becuase i imagined it to be way more than that!

I believe he said he was putting a stage 1 shift kit in his auto transmission (harder, quicker shifts).
