http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-OUTLAN...sspagenameZWD1V2007 OUTLANDER AUDIO AUX CABLE Ok I did it. I asked the dealer about the part. Asked him to post it so I could buy it. I am however a little perplexed. Why couldn't I just get an adaptor that would fit the aux port that runs to the center concul back plate. Snap it off you'll see it there.

QUOTE(Robertjuy @ Aug 29 2007, 02:26 PM) Ok it's installed. Keep in mind this part is only useful for the stock cd player. These notes are meant for the LS model with the stock radio. IT'S EASY
Remove two air vents by using a small flat screwdriver after you pop them upward from the bottom they will hinge upwards on the plastic clips
now the fun part. The middle face plate with the buttons its on tight. Theres one plastic clip holding the bottom in. and 3 plastic clips at the top. Once again use it like a hinge.
PULL HARD from the bottom. My stupid plastic clip came off but wasn't damaged. BUT it fell down to the middle.
Get ready and unplug the single wire connection from the faceplate and put the face away far away from where you're working. The back seat or trunk. Make sure you don't forget to deactivate the hazzard.
remove the Radio. Remove four screws holding radio in. be careful with plastic nooks and cranies everywhere I've droped one screw and have to take apart the middle area to get them.
remove the 3 connections from the back of the radio. Two groups of wire connectors and the antenna connection.
Put the radio away for now you don't need it.
Look at the two wire harnesses and count the pins on the one with less wires. This will be the one that you need to connect the mp3 to.
flip the wire harness over and pull up on the wire lock with a flat computer screwdriver. Very small port. Be careful not to use too much force. Your not trying to take it out just lift it slightly to push in the three wire connectors comming from the mp3 module. remember to push the lock back down. Zip tie the black box that the audio cable runs out to the radio wire harness. Makes it easier to push the radio back in.
Now that the units connected determine where you want to run the wire. I recomend the lower glove box. It's nice theres a plastic punch out to run the wire though in the top glove box but it's way to large.
It works fine. at volume 30 the mp3 player at full volume sounds like an mp3 cd.
Good luck to you all. If someone can help with the pictures I can email them to you.
Hi robertjuy, Would you have any idea whether it is possible to install an AUX input into the 07' LS that has a Rear DVD system? I was advised by Mitsu that they will not be able to install it for me because I have one. Also, the AUX connector you have comes out into the glovebox? Is there a way to make it go into the centre console?

Sorry everyone for the non-responses. Didn't get notified about the responses. Ok here's the deal. With the dvd system you can't use it because the leads used for the aux jack are the ones used for the AV on the back of your center consule. The reason for the glove box install was there was enough give on the cable that I could control my mp3 player and drive easy. There is no hole for the jack anywhere. This car wasn't meant to have one. OH you could always get an extention cable and run it though the arm rest. That should look smooth. But eh I'm lazy. I'll stick to the glove box. can tuck it in easy when I don't need it.

Hi Robertguy, I've pulled apart the stereo and had a look at the AUX input area. Could you tell me whether it is possible to install an AUX input and where the wires would go if so? I have a Rear DVD but it doesn't seem to be connected to the front unit - some features and functions that are suppose to enable it to work with the front unit are either missing or not working.

Its ok now. I've checked with the dealer and my Outlander does not have its DVD system connected to the front audio. Ordered in the AUX cable part.

QUOTE(Robertjuy @ Jan 25 2008, 08:14 AM) Glad to hear you're able to use the part. I know some others wanted to know this info. so in a nutshell.
DVD rear unit does not use the ports needed for the mp3 stereo jack.
you can have both connections.
Actually, my dealer said that for the special promotion pack (which has the nudge bar, rear DVD and alloy wheels - called the Activ Pack in Australia), the DVD unit is not attached to the front, but in normal cases it is - and the Rear sound can be accessed via the AUX settings. Reason for this is the rear DVD was installed after the car lands in Australia from Japan.

Hi guys
interesting listing and hopefully useful to me too (just bought an ipod) but heres the question (s)
1) do you know what the radio model is in the LS (we don't have an LS in the uk just equipe, warrior and elegance i think) mines a warrior and sounds like it may have the same radio (without sat nav) or do you have pics of the radio
2) do you know if the part number on e bay is a mitsubishi part number (as the ebay listing will only ship to us and canada)
cheers
Paul

1) Does it looks something like this? 2) In Australia the part number is MZ360136EX - had mine imported directly from japan as there was none in the country when I wanted to buy it.

cheers
that looks the same as mine , just got to find somewhere to get one at a sensible price (if i get one from mitsubishi in the uk they want £85) and one US company has quoted me $96 for the shipping ($40 for the wires)
don't suppose anyone has a wiring diagram/schematic for this as I may consider making one if i can find out what it is
cheers
Paul

I may pull it apart to see whats inside when I get it  but I guess we'll see
