I have a 91 colt with a 4g15 SOHC. I was driving down the road one day and i was doing about 40 mph and i pressed on the gas. it almost died....it didnt give me trouble till i got home. i shut off the car and tryed to start it and it ran for like 2 minutes then died. i tryed to start it again, but all that happened was the ignition clicked and it just cranks over and over.........anyone know the possible problem?
also..if i turn the key forward one click before starting it clicks and makes a sound like electronics engaging then it does it every 2 seconds over and over.................
I really want to get this car running...HELP!!!!!!!!!!

it sounds like electronic problem,

check all the FUSES, and battery cables, maybe the 12v are inestables, it maybe the cause off the problem,

something might be loose. never know just check everything, i had the same problem but id have to jump my car once i shut it off which was annoying as sh**. so i replaced the alt. and it was fine.

well i have a ton of new engine parts...i replaced the distributor, fuel tank, head gasket, lots of hoses, etc. im hoping its not my ECM unit

Caps in the ECU exploded, your ecu is toast. Try and replace the caps, find one at a yard or try 4g61t.org. This is by far, *THE* most common problem these cars have.

Did your "check engine" light ever come on?
