i am having the same problems as everyone else with the error 03 , cd won't eject, etc. the quote i got from the mitsubishi dealer is $1700.00 [CODE]for a replacement unit plus $764. for the faceplate, this is just parts not with labor!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone successfully removed the faceplate and unjammed the cds themselves? any insight will be appreciated.

The faceplate can be pried off with a screw driver. A common cause for that code on your radio is the cd hits the faceplate when trying to eject. Try pushing the eject button and quickly removing the faceplate and see if it ejects. If the cd comes out with the face plate removed then the radio mounting screws should be loosened and adjust the radio position and retighten.

can the face plate be easily damaged? any special tricks getting it off?

Just pry it off with a small screwdriver wher it meets the dash. I think there are 2 clips at the top and 2 at the bottom and it comes off easy.
