I am looking to replace the gauge cluster in my 04 Outlander LS. My questions is, is my mileage, trip, etc information, stored in the vehicles computer? The gauge I am looking to replace itwith is also from an XLS model. The clusters are the same, but I am still curious if there will be any difference in connecting? Will the mileage of my vehicle be accurate changing to a different cluster, or is there some kind of storage on the XLS cluster that will cause any inaccuracies putting it in my vehicle. Thanks

Just to let anyone who cares know, I changed the gauge clusters from the LS to and XLS. Nice orange glow, with white faces. The only problem is, the mileage does not reset. Mileage is kept internally with the cluster. So in essence, my car is now 6,000 miles younger. Gonna have to change back if ever sold.....

just figured I'd let you all know

The back of the gauge clusters are exactly the same. only difference between gauge clusters is with or without ABS. If you want to find a cluster check out LKQ online, and other wrecked car parts websites. average is around 50 bucks. good luck
