I really need your help!!!! Im at school right now and my Camry wont start anymore, its my starter. The cars an auto so I cant push start it. Its starting to go bad, sometimes itll work and sometimes it wont. Do yall have or knoe any method i can use to help start the car , (hitting the starter, banging it, anything like that atleast just to get it to start for now) Thanks.

Well it depends whats wrong with the starter. But from your description it may not actually be the starter thats the problemif you shake the key a little while its in the ignition and then try to start...does it start?it could just be the barrel thats failing.

I have seen the same thing. Usually if it's a starter going bad, it'll turn over very weak and will take a few turns to start. I have worked on a few GMs where the tumbler was the actual part causing it to go bad. When the key was turned, nothing happened.
