Probably a stupid question but I was wondering since my room is kinda far from where my car is parked and if someone wants to break into my car and isn't detered from the alarm I cant do anything about it. Is there an alarm system where the piece on the key chain or another piece I can put on the key chain will ring or have some kind of signal to alert me from a limited range that the alarm is going off? so I can run out there wit a bat or somethin..lol but seriously the best alarm system cant stop the person if no one is around.

They call them 2-way security systems.

Best Buy and Circuit City have them.

If you are a do-it-yourself person.

There are other alarm brands out there. The crime guard one is the two feature add-on for the alarms that Crutchfield sells.

Just get a two-way alarm system from anyplace that sells car alarms.

Why don't you get something like this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/NITRO-2-WAY-CAR-ALARM-...1QQcmdZViewItem
that auction is over but you can easily find another one

The link doesn't work, but if you go to ebay motors, car parts, security, alarms. You'll find plenty of two-way alarms, but they don't usually come with everything needed to install the alarm (relays and such). I avoid ebay parts (never had a good experience with the generic brand stuff on ebay), especially sellers with bad feedback. If you've never installed a car alarm, seek professional installation.

Just my two cents.
