If you haven`t done it yet. Do this in this order.

Replace spark plugs with high performance wire.
Replace plugs with bosch 4 plus.
Replace ground wire for larger guage. I suggest strap wire.
Replace filter with K and N or Ram air in takes.
Add MSD.
Add NOS. Compact sport.

Better change your suspension and put some new brakes!

Have fun.

u could do a 4g63bt swap on any of the 1.6 liter mirage or colts a little less work on 89 and up 87-88 is easy also 85-86 a little more work then 87-88. better to swap in 85 to 88 lighter then 89s.

The benefits of a grounding kit are far more than just simple horsepower. IMHO

Hi there! I own a 2002 Mirage and I also want to get more out of it. I'm not particularily tech-minded, but I understand what's being said and that list of yours sounds do-able.
So far I've only got extractors and a 2 1/4 inch steel hiflo system straight thru, from engine back, and triple flow muffler. I'm really glad I joined up here, asking people that know about this stuff. You'd be surpried how many tune-up places are useless and only interested in the sale. Then again maybe it's not a surprise.

You know, this isn't as helpful as I thought it would be so I'm gonna seek some help elsewhere. <_<
