:offtopic: I own a 95 eclipse 2.0 , i have like 2 month with this problem when i use my car for about 20 min , the car goes crazy the Rpm gauge goes up and down , and then the engine turns off , after i wait 5 min the cars starts normally but again starts failing !! HELP i took my car to a shoop to put the snap on tools to the ECU the fuel mixture is up . and the o2 sensor the second one is not reading ,


any idea? should i change the sensor and try ?

are you getting a CEL? check all your wires to and from the sensors.

all the wires ar good , i just mounted the engine , i change all tehe gasket , timming belt etc , but still i having this problem turns off , after X period of time 20 min and the TAC goes crazy

Check to make sure your timing is correct, if they didn't at the shop.

my GF's supra has the same problem, i cant figure it out, the mechanic she took it to said the CEL indicated "Lean Exhaust" something like that. Do ya'll think it's just a sensor?

only is a problem when at idle...

It is something with the idle most likely. Check your Idle Control Valve, make sure it's not stuffed up... I don't know how to check it... sorry.

Could be a problem with the intake manifold, or manifold gasket.

this problem has been shot whipped and beaten to a pulp.... most common causes are ICS (Idle control sensor), EGR valve, dirty air filter, dirty Throttle body.

try those first. they are all cheap and easy fixes and all but the ICS are required maintenance of any car. people just don't baby their cars like they should =(

p.s. don't people search the forums before posting anymore? lol

yea when this problem arises its almost always the air filter... face it alot of people don't know ur supposed to change ur air filter rather often...

well im a noobie but my gs had the same problem, then i saw on eof the spark plug wires was broken so changed the whole thing as well as the spark plugs and it stopped. i also cleaned the egr valve.

My friend had a similar problem in his cougar. Turns out he needed a new transmission. It was an Auto by the way. If yours is auto you might want to look into it. Car worked fine after a new one.
