Hi All,

We have an 04 Outlander XLS that has two unique problems.
1) We the car idles, the engine fans runs very often and revs the egine up about 200 more RPM.
Any one else got this problem? The dealer told me it was normal.

2) When you first turn on the A/C I smell a musty odor for about a minute than it goes away. Any fixes?

Thanks All!

Hi,

On question number 1, there is an open recall called cooling fan recall.
Go see dealer to solve this problem. The dealer should replace the cooling fan controller.
On question number 2, try to replace the A/C filter, its called air purifier.

Hope it helps.

On second question you just need to spray in the air inlet some fungus killer. All cars have this problem when air conditionning is not used all the time. Just fallow directions on the can. Don't forget to leave windows open during this operation.
