Whats the part number? Where is it on the radio?
If I'm gonna need to pull it out... could someone just give me some basic instructions on how to do that. Thanks.

i called my dealer.
all you need is the S/N, which took me a while to take apart to find out, but my stereo works now!

I have a 2001 Galant with radio: MR472956 other number on it is DY-2U05cwd and 34W0190 Serial number is: 0Y014052E. It says OFF right now on it. Dealer gave me 2990 but that didn't work now I have the OFF and I tried to reset it by leaving the ACC on for an hour, that didn't work either. After I got the OFF message he said oh, here is another number 2978. I don't know what to use or how to get it back to CODE. Any help greatly appreciated. WOOHOO!! I was able to unlock it this time, must not have waited long enough before. 2978 worked-tunes going again. Thanks to the forum for the answers to how to unlock and where to get the code. see ya :liebe011:
