ok so i have this evo2 engine and my 4g63 vans gearbox bolts straight up to it now i noticed that the evo block has the same bolt holes for its mounts as the old 4g63 so we will sit in ther now i got a sigma clutch plate same diameter as the evo fly wheel but will fit rearwheeldrive box the only this was the vans fly wheel and the evos fly wheel were different diameters well the ring gears where so what im doing well its at the engineers is useing the vans flywheel ringgear on the evo fly wheel now it had to b machined in to the fly wheel but 10mm towards the clutch side because it was bigger and needed the gurth off the fly wheel . so now it will fit the starter right. no because of that 10mm i have machined down the face of the starter and the hole gear box 5mm each so. o and the evo fly wheel didnt have a spigit bearing so i got that machined in to now is ther any thing i mist in my g-box set up? im just woundering bout sumthing but i feel it will have a easy fix is shifting that box forward 5mm may put the inputshaft in to the flywheel to much and mayb hitting the crank 5 mm ant **** tho so i dont know yet i may have to get that machined to but thats my only consern . who else has actuly dont this. ther are so meny more things like shoping the inlet manifold and the exause maifold out of the turbo dumps bang on to the engine mount but its all custom and changeable. another feww things i was wanting to know was how to make suspentiong and braking better like i want some paht discs onthe front and i have a power steering rack on the way to and what do people think on the columb shitf ova gearstick is it better and how hard is that to fix up?i found some thing else out to that is gr8 that i can turn the turbo around to face the front of the van and that my mean estractors and wastegate are on the way ehehehe weeeeeee

howsit mate,

Im well and truelly under way with this conversion. only things left to do are wiring up my LINK, and some electrics. and finish sorting my flywheel/clutch.

Im of the same opinion as you when it comes to the suspension and brakes.
what iv got in mind is to get some "drop spindles" for the front, i hear that HQ ones fit, and hopefully VN commodore front discs will bolt onto them. but im yet to research any of this very much. as iv been focusing on getting her running. Im going to get some BILSTEINS for it, make it handle just as well as it goes!

let me know where your upto mate.

Cheers
JP
