We've bought a 2007 Outlander ES. It was represented to us to have blue tooth function by which we could talk on our cell phone through the radio speakers.
We asked about it during our test drive and the salesman said he hadnt figured it out himself, but that this model had it. Now it appears that the ES is prewired for blue tooth, but it needs something added for it to be functional. The salesman has not told us this yet, he says he's still looking into it. Tomorrow(Monday) will be a week since the purchase. Anybody else have any knowledge of how this works?

I think you have all the buttons on the steering wheel, right? all you need then is the BT module installed so you can start using BT. And from what I read, your car's computer needs to be reprogrammed, so it's best you have it installed at the dealership.

The dealership install instructions show that the controls are not factory installed. This is what you're essentially paying for. The wiring is already in the steering column and the software is already present in the vehicles electronic system. Once you hook up the control module to the steering column harness, the circuit is complete and the system will function. The built in blue tooth works great too, esp with navi.

Not that you care six months later but incase someone else does...
