Failed WOF for excessive exhaust smoke. Possible causes?

Piston's: Check the compression in each cyclinder.

Valves: Same procedure as above to fault find.

Turbo : When the turbo gets worn it tends to leak into the exhuast however be careful if you remove the manfold to inspect becuase you will need to replace the gaskets.

Without more information about the colour of exhuast, when it is present and if there are times when it is not present .... There is no way to be of more help.

does it use heaps of oil if so most likely the turb common other mitsi fualt is the valve guides they go hard and crack witchs causes the smoke just done my head for the same prob and that fixed it if theres oil in your intake id say turb
