I argued with a guy about fuel 2 weeks ago. his 1g FWD wasn't running right. he "slightly" increased his boost pressure with a regulator and thought it just needed tuned. he described a popping sound, horrible performance under boost, lurching, and surging. the "dyno that never lies" CLEARLY showed, an extreme rich condition followed immediately by a drop in fuel pressure but he wanted new plugs and wires. It didn't matter that he had already lied once to me about NOT welding his wastegate shut.

I looked at him and said, "if I changed your plugs and wires, then make another pull without correcting the fuel issue you may end up with a 3400lb paperweight. Not to mention a mop to clean the oil off my dyno before it gets in the rollers."

he called me an ****, said I had no idea what I was talking about because the gas tank was full.

now, before i started to tear up from holding back the extreme laughter, I calmly explained how fuel pressure is regulated and that the amount of fuel into the cylinders needed to be increased as boost pressure rose.

he calmed down a little and then followed with this question, "so I need bigger fuel hoses and a bigger fuel rail?"

so I had to explain things again and follow with, "increasing the size of your fuel delivery would decrease restriction and decrease pressure thus decreasing the amount of fuel the injectors could spray."

as we bounced back and forth between increasing and decreasing the fuel pump size, injector size, AGAIN WITH THE LINE AND FUEL RAIL SIZES he FINALLY mentioned that he has FIC 650cc injectors with a STOCK fuel pump and a STOCK FPR! oh, and the welded wastegate.

when he fist came in he told me EVERYTHING was stock, but that he increased the boost a little bit. so, here are the lessons I hope he learned:

1) you don't need a boost pressure regulator if you are going to WELD THE WASTEGATE SHUT!

2) increased boost needs increased fuel, and bigger injectors ALONE won't cut it

3) don't sound like an **** and argue with someone that has your car on a dyno, they can blow it up by "accident" because you signed a waiver and are pissing me off

4) TELL THE GUY THAT HAS YOUR CAR ON THE DYNO EVERYTHING THAT IS DONE TO THE VEHICLE

Lessons I learned:
1) never trust anyone that wears their hat sideways and says, "can you make my car fast?"

2) things that are simple to you aren't simple to everyone

3) inspect everything under the hood before pulling on the dyno

4) some people are just born dumb

5) In this industry, if the customer is difficult and doesn't know a thing, just do what they ask you. If they complain that it isn't fixed, ask them why they think it isn't working, and if they say that's why I brought it to you, tell them to keep their opinions to themselves next time!

Living in Ireland(left hand drive),I know that when taking your car to mainland europe(right hand drive) that your required to put these "beam benders" on your lights.I just assumed this was liek a universal thing that left hand lights and right hand pointed in different directions.

I was as the english dictionary says perturbed , i think i shall say , LOL but i get people in and out the shop all the toime that ask questions , while i am trying to werk and get answers and say OHH ill bring my car here and so on when i can care less if they come back and sum do .

Dun wan make yu think i was that upset guy , no harm , just wanted to open up a new discussion, hey .

Pwee , hao do yu deal with this stuff , yur in the industry also , we tune etc. I get sum that want to consult meeh then get meeh to do things when i always most the time can clearlly tell they did or tried sumthin and they always tgry to down play it and say its "stock" or was like that when they got the car LOL. Sum my bvrothers of cousins at the shop think im mean cause i turn away people that have come to ask questions and say they will have meeh install turbo etc. When they do come they usually have had sum person try to install it for less or do it themselves and hab problems so then they come to meeh , I usually tell them flat out i will not do the werk to correct their problem .......that is mean i guess , sumtimes i do , ther i do not , ikts the principle i say of saying yu will bring it to our shop and then one yu screw up and wont be honest about it yu want me to fix it..CRY TO MUMMY lol.

This one case in particular , This guy had a Mitsubishi L200 and wanted to add a turbo , i offered him a very reasonable priced kit and instillation , or just the kit with no warranty on self instillation ,

Well i heard he got the local druggie who claims to werk on cars do most the hard labor like tear open the cylinder head etc . and they would add the turbo etc themselves , i guess sumthin went wrong cause they ended up at our shop. I mean cmon , word gets around when sumone is tuning a car. Apparentlly sumthin went wrong. They came and told meeh they were gunna get a technician to install it but , started the teardown and ecided not to , but to let us do it. I asked about hao much werk they had did . He said they never tore open the cylinder head or any of that ., but it was very apparent of the things they had did , , The turbo and piping etc when he said he took it off and they were gunna mount it is why its dirty. I looked in the inlet poort of the turbo and seen loads of oil , , which really made meeh upset and not do the job for them , why lie i would have made everything work , so simple , LOL

My money grubbing brother took the job tho...for an extra fee above normal LOL

the reason for the "beam benders " is ..as i know , i hab many family in Laos and sum in KHmer , but at times i do travel to Lao when on racing tours in Eesarn area of thailand. There the cars are left drive also as in thailand is left hand drive. The beam benders adjust yur lights to comply to the road without having them manually adjusted by a technician when yu are going between the 2 places, it will be costlly and time consuming. On our cars the passenger side light is adjusted a little more towards the side of the road and the driver side more straight ahead. The beam benders keep the light frum being a blinding issue of drivers n passengers in opposed driving cars and also adjust yur lights to better view yur driving situation on the oppossed traffic as yu are normally of driving,

wao thats confusing.

Moderators yu say..Hmm i should be gettin on sumones good sides LOL

I am not laughing at you, but yes, you did misunderstand..... kind of.

the whole point of the joke is that someone said we weren't fighting in the fight forum so UTI said, "Blow me." by saying that the thread returned to being a fight. when I was reading the conversations those two remarks just popped out at me and I couldn't help but laugh. I like surprise jokes
