Sorry to crash the party but i hope this reprogramming thing wont be needed for the model who dont have a built in tv and navi if the battery was disconnected? I am asking because mine would arrive end of next month and i need to arm myself with plenty of information as i can. Thanks.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is highly unlikley that you will get the sat/nav/tv to work properly in your car. These were only built for the Jap market and that is why it is in Jananese runs the wrong coordinates for GPS and the TV is set for frequency on NSTN not PAL.

If you want some info including boot disks and mods to get some of the options to work visit the following site that specialises in MMCS.

hi, I have a problem with login to this site. Anyone else successfully downloaded cd-rom's and get their mmcs working outside Japan? I am living in belgium and will acquire my Japanese RVR Sports gear X3 '98 next week. Cam't wait to drive this awesome (yet family-friendly) car

[update] I have the car now for 3 weeks, great drive, terrible fuel consumption (16l/100km). my mmcs works as far as the radio/cd is concerned, I have the original navigation CD + English manual. I will receive a radio expander shortly. The previous owner was in japan recently and contacted the dealer. He claimed that a lot of MMCS problems are screen related, due to the vulnerability to sunlight. Did not check the or replace the screen yet.
