Hi!
The 1G predecessor of the 2G Outlander was sold in two variants: For Asia-Pacific and US there was Airtrek model. For Australia and Europe there was Outlander (model CU2W). Adn the Evolander is the third option, but don't know much about it. The obvious difference was in the front part of the bodyshell. Of course engine portfolio was bit different as well.
For both models, there was a turbocharged engine. Models Airtrek Turbo and Outlander Turbo.
In Outlander Turbo there is 4G63 engine, a de-tuned version of the Lancer EVO VIII engine. 148 kW, 202 HP, 303Nm top torque (sorry, too laisy to convert to lbs/ft). The Airtrek Turbo had 240 HP i think, so it was a less de-tuned engine.
See the forum for 1G Outlander/Airtrek to read more.
RE the 2G Outlander: In Europe these engines will be available: 2.0 TDI PD (Wolkswagen very successfull turbodiesel plant, direct pump-fuel jet, 140 HP, 6 gear manual DSG VW gearbox) 2.2 HDI (Peugeot-Citroen turbodiesel, commonrail, about 165 HP) 2.4 MIVEC II ("world engine" - international development, gasoline, naturaly aspired, 170 HP) 3.0 V6 (gasoline, naturaly aspired, 220 HP, allready available in US)
No turbocharged gasoline engine for 2G Outlander so far, at least I did not notice such info.
