I'm looking at buying a 1991 Pajero up here in Canada. 33000 km 2.5TD Super Select $13,500. Since this truck was never sold at dealerships in NOrth America, I have to make sure I do my research on this vehicle before I buy. I'm an industrial mechanic and am pretty good at figuring things out, I've never worked on diesels but have good experience with gasoline engines so I'll be doing most repairs myself. My main concern is finding parts, not only when something breaks, but more importantly routine replacement like rotors, pads, clutch parts, filters etc... Does anyone in NA have any sources for parts for a 2.5td Pajero? Are there any common problems that I should be aware of while inspecting the vehicle? Does anyone tow +3000 lbs with their 4dr Pajero? How does it handle it? Lastly, did the Pajero come with a block heater? As an option? Never? (for the Aussies, a block heater is a heating coil that warms your block to help starting in cold temps).
Thanks All!

I'd rather have the turbo diesel but thanks anyway. Where do you find parts?
