I am about to replace the cam belt on a 1994 16 value 1800cc FTO. Can anyone answer the following questions. 1) How much tension do you place on the new belt? 2) How do you remove the main drive shaft pulley? and 3) Do i need to worry about the timing? If i remove the old belt and replace the new one without turning the cam drive or crank shift, then i should be able to simply pop the new belt on.- is that correct?

the belt should be timed as anything can happen when the belt is off.most engines have easy alignment markers that you can see when you remove the covers as well as marks on the pulleys.align these before removing the belt and you are safe as you have a reference point.PM if you need any more info and I can see what I can dig up.also list your engine code as well (eg 4d56,4g63 etc)should be found under the bonnet
