I just spoke to the apexy rep and he said the safc on our 420a engines will not work. he stated that the air somthng needs a resistance of like 5 and our 420a's are way over if that makes sence??

Where are all the 420a people.?? I need to know what to use insted., im supposed to be going to cali next month.

i've been running the AFCII for 2 years. no problems.

yes, the AFC was not meant for our vehicles, but neither was a turbo.

i think the apexi rep was referring to the MAP voltage which reads 0-5V. our cars are vacuum only. that means that when the MAP sensor reads a vacuum level of 0mmhg it is at 5v, when it reads a vacuum level of -650mmhg it is at .25V.

ask and you shall receive

i set up a car domain acct about 3 years ago and haven't been back since.

I think I will pin this since so many people are trying to figure out what to use for their 420a turbo tuning. the SAFC is a cheaper and very effective option, but like you said Oh-hell, most people may not know how to install it or that it will even work.

my 420 turbo project was a 1 year ordeal of research and then another year of locating parts and installation. I have oodles of links and info sites that since this topic is pinned ask away and I'll post anything for future reference

thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind

it won't cut the wire.(I think either 18-20ga) t-splices aren't sharp, they only penetrate the insulation. just don't use pliers, use your hands to attach the splices.

its basically a "piggy-back" fuel control system. you hook it up to your cars ECU and it takes the data being delivered from the Throttle Position Sensor, Engine Speed Sensor, and whatever airflow sensor your car uses, and will manipulate it (based on the way you tune your car) so that your injectors will deliver the right amount of fuel when you need it. its generally used for any forced induction setup to compensate for the extra air.
