Heres the link to the video "buriedfriend" was talking about
From: 693406I think the message is good but the video is really lame. Not all the car wrecks shown in those pictures were from street racing. I went to marshu.com and looked at some of the stories... and well some didn't mention anything about street racing.
Someone needs to do a "Real" documentary on street racing, and interview real people & family's this has happened to to make more of an impact. Bottom line, street racing can be done wrong, but it also can be done in a controlled way. The proper place is on a track, but this is the Real World and not every one will go to a track.
People are always going to make stupid decisions.... just look at our president.
Street racing is reported to originate prior to the 1930s... but you know when the first street race was..... When the second car was made.
My parents were smart and made me drive a slow POS (AMC Pacer) till I knew how to drive and I could afford to buy a little nicer POS (67 Ford Fairlane, The Fairlane 500 was hardly a frugal beast, slurping 18.1 miles per gallon.) it only had lap belts, that kept me from being brave enough to drive it really fast, and it loved to chow the gas. If you floored it you could watch the gas needle go down pretty fast.
If you want to drive fast go here

Inside Story: Street Racing: The Need For Speed DVDDriving fast is bad m'kay, cars are bad, m'kay and driving cars is bad, m'kay. we shouldn't drive, m'kay, because cars are bad, m'kay.
