That sure was a noisy drive to the bus station!
Leaving my driveway my horn in the 85 Starwagon was starting to beep slightly on its own. 5 minutes later I was sounding a wake up blast to all of Brisbane before I removed the fuse and killed the earsplitting sound.

Q1- What causes the horn to blast constantly? Is it most likely a horn relay fault?

Q2- Is there a test I can do to make sure that the relay is at fault?

Q3- Where is the horn relay found?

I am just assuming that the relay is not functioning properly and is constantly stuck on sending the signal to the horn. Seems most likely to me... but I have little experience with horns. Could there be something more obvious I should check first?

Thanks for your help in advance...

Dude

Hi sounds like you had a good start to the day problem with anything electrical there can be many causes it may have to be a little trial and error. Personally I would first start with the wire connections you may have to trace them to find which way they run check the outer of the wires maybe the wire is exposed causing a short
acess the horn button on the steering wheel make sure the wire hasn't came off allowing it to make a circuit.
hope you find the prob this is just a quick check that may help

Greetings!
If you have had a big night Drinking, it could well be caused thru your head resting on the horn button!
In all seriousness I would first remove the horn button assembly from the centre of the steering wheel and make sure the contacts havent collapsed. If these prove to be O/K remove the steering wheel and check the contact between the wheel (Small brass peg and spring) and the contact ring. Quite often they get hot and it melts the plastic in the wheel causing the guts of it to fall out and create the havoc you have just explained!
Good luck
Regards Ken

P/S I dont think your horn relay is at fault as they dont have one from factory. If yours has a relay it could be anywhere. They were often fitted to combat the melting steering wheel syndrome. Have you the standard horn/s fitted? or do you have aftermarket horns on it?

Thanks for the advice brandy and ken,

Problem was the horn button foam had worn out and compressed and was in constant contact.

Too easy...

GD
