I'm too stressed about bad gas mileage to think about cold weather today-
I performed another test, and here is what the numbers look like:
199.4 miles on 16.25 gallons of 89.5 octane fuel.
No morning "warm ups" to waste fuel. No lead foot. I actually drove like a grandma on purpose for this tank / test. A whopping 12.27 mpg. Boo!
I have an LS. No, I can't tap the mainframe. I just got this thing, and it has 10k miles on it. I think I may check the plugs, air cleaner, and tire pressures before I start watching the trip odometer again- because if I do, I have a feeling it will just piss me off! The window sticker mentions 17mpg with average city driving. I consciously tried to baby it along to get close- not even! Do I sound a bit sore? You bet. I still like it though, and I hope to get a better number on the next go round.

Don't feel bad at all about your getting 17 mpg
on your Endeavor. With the adaptive shift control I program
it the first time i drive from off on "soft driving" i.e. it shifts gear before 2K rpm on the tach. Check your RPM(tachometer) when city driving it can go as low as 1200 rpm on 4th gear.
As consolation, my friend drives a Volvo XC90 with a 2.8 V6 engine
he gets 10 MPG for city drivng and 12-14 MPG at most. Not to mention the price of his SUV. I have driven 3 different SUV's before this baby with V6's I am quite happy with this one...overall...for the money I paid for it.
