I just suggest giving it a year between school and "enlisting" When I wanted to become an MP I was all about it. Every one told me not to do it. I didn't want to listen to "them" I had passed all my tests and the Army had my social security card, and birth certificate. all I had left was a physical. that summer I got a hernia while lifting a 5 gallon buck of water out of the lake to put out my camp fire.. and boom I had to wait. I was forced to think about it. after my surgery I recovered for a few months, found out my girl friend wanted to break up, because she wasn't sure who she "was" anymore, and she wanted more freedom for collage. Bam another shift, so now I decided if no one wanted me here ( including the army MP because of my hernia for at least a year or more) I had do do something. So I moved to Colorado to work at a guest ranch. It was a great experience! I met lots of people from around the world who came there to vacation. I did allot of true mountain biking at Winter Park Colorado. Most fun I have ever had on a bike in my life! and in the early spring when I got out there there was still snow everywhere! So I got to ski the switchbacks down the continental divide (IMG: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f2/LovelandPass_CMM.jpg/480px-LovelandPass_CMM.jpg) Seriously Moving changed my mind, and my whole perspective in life. I experienced so much the couple of years I lived there. It made me realize how much there was out there for me to experience, I just had to be brave enough to try. That summer I went white watter rafting for the first time in my life. Now I try to do it whenever I get the chance. Just think long and hard about what you want to do because whatever you do can be life changing. just depends on if you want to do it for yourself, or have someone tell you how to do it and when to do it. just my opinion but kinda sounds mildly like jail to me. Just remember once they train you they own you! Your tour of duty length is really no longer your choice. They will tell you they wont extend it, but they are lieing . You are to valuable to them to just let the training you receive leave when you want. Its war time and different rules apply LOOK HEREsorry again about ranting... maybe to much caffeine tonight lol

QUOTE(DOHC. DSM @ May 15 2007, 12:37 AM) lol THAT IS EFFIN AWESOME LOL. and yea im for sure buyin one mom hates em but gotta live life right. AND HELL NO I aint goin with no hostels havent you seen taht movie lol. haha jk. i wanna go to europe and japan. Now with my job I may go to China sometime soon. All I had to do was wait and experience everything else in my life that led me to here... Now today I was offered the new "Buyer" position at my work. hmm another thing to add to the list of things I've done. I do agree that joining the service can give you great direction in life. Just think if you want that target painted on you. It can happen. My cousin is still affected from the first gulf war. he will never be the same. When you kill another human, It affects you in a way you can never be explained. You are forever changed. Just think if you are willing to take that gamble. or take the gamble that I did and see where it leads you. You have a few year before the Marine's won't want you. ;) at least wait till Bush is out
